Useful information

Arrival

Arrive at university accommodation at Freeman Court, Parham Road, Canterbury CT1 1WU from 12 noon on Monday 11th August.

Go to the accommodation which is in Flats 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 where keys will be distributed. See the university's map - Parham Road campus is in the top right hand corner!

If you are running late or have any problems, contact David on his mobile: 07778 778691.

Getting to Canterbury

If you’re travelling by train, you can choose between Canterbury West or Canterbury East stations. Canterbury West is a little closer to the accommodation but you would probably need to get a taxi from either station unless you are an enthusiastic walker.

If you’re bringing a car to the course, there is limited parking available which we need to book. Please could you let us know if you are planning to bring a car by Friday 25th July.

Accommodation and catering

Accommodation in Canterbury is in student flats and houses. See attached for room allocations. The flats have single bedrooms, showers and toilets and a fully equipped kitchen including crockery, cutlery, pans and kitchen utensils.

Accommodation for the trip to Belgium & Holland will be in shared rooms at the Youth Hostel in Antwerp.

While we are in Canterbury, breakfast will be self-catered, so we will distribute cash on arrival to buy supplies. You can of course bring your preferred choice of breakfast with you to save the trouble of going shopping in Canterbury (you will still get the cash of course).

Evening meals in Canterbury will be taken mostly in the University dining room at North Holmes campus, with a post-concert supper on Friday evening at an Italian restaurant. You will need to bring cash to buy lunches.

The trip to Belgium is also on a half board basis so you will need to bring Euros for lunches and refreshments.

• An RSCM folder, if you have one
• A pencil
