12 to 19 April, Ljubljana

David leads a singing break in Slovenia’s capital Ljubljana, with visits to different parts of the region including the massive fortified church of Biertan, Viscri, King Charles’ favourite Transylvanian village (where he owns property), and the opportunity to sing in one of the oldest Saxon churches in Europe, a domed Orthodox church and a large Lutheran church in the heart of the Citadel. There is also the opportunity to visit the caves at Postojna.

The course runs from Sunday evening with a dinner, to the following Sunday morning, with a final concert on the Saturday night.

Saturday 28 February at 7pm, St George’s Bristol

David conducts Exultate Singers and Bristol Ensemble Baroque in a performance of one of the most moving works ever written – J.S. Bach’s St Matthew Passion.

Telling the story of Christ’s final days in music of drama, beauty and deep compassion, this masterpiece combines vivid storytelling with moments of profound reflection.

David conducts a choir of 350 voices in a truly unforgettable celebration as the magnificent sound of Bristol Beacon’s newly restored Britton Organ is unleashed in its 70th anniversary year! Together we’ll explore Fauré’s Requiem and other choral organ masterpieces in a day of joyful music-making.

David leads a singing break in Transylvania, based in historic Sighisoara – a Unesco site – and focusing on the south of the region. Transylvania is astonishingly beautiful with lush countryside surrounded by mountains, forests and lakes, providing a setting for splendid castles and palaces.

Sunday 16 June, Bristol Beacon

David Ogden and Tim Harrison conduct three of Bristol’s leading ensembles and the renowned tenor James Gilchrist as they perform Holst’s Planets Suite, Finzi’s extraordinary work Intimations of Immortality, and Hans Zimmer’s Earth in the newly refurbished Bristol Beacon concert hall.

Sunday 31 July at 5pm, Barrow Gurney church

David Ogden conducts his professional vocal ensemble Celestia in a varied programme of the very greatest choral works of the last half-millennium.

A long interval gives audience members a rare chance to visit the beautiful gardens of Barrow Court, and enjoy a Glyndebourne-style picnic in stunning scenery.
