Sunday 23 July at 2pm and 6pm, Royal Albert Hall, London
Choristers from Westbury-on-Trym Parish Church and singers from Bristol Youth Choir sang at the Royal Albert Hall at the Ten Pieces Proms, joining singers from around the UK to form the Ten Pieces Children’s Choir. They performed an excerpt from Elgar’s The Music Makers, the opening movement of Vivaldi’s Gloria, and No Place Like Home, a new commission by Kerry Andrew. The 6pm concert was broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 and will be shown on CBBC later in the year.
Saturday 23 September at 7.30pm, Colston Hall, Bristol
David will direct the Big Anniversary sing, a unique occasion bringing together singers from all over Bristol and beyond to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Colston Hall with BBC Radio Bristol. In a celebration of the artists who have performed at the Hall over the years, all singers are invited to bring their spirit alive by being part of a massed choir of hundreds of voices.
The Big Anniversary Sing will be directed by David and accompanied by a live band. Come and sing all your favourite songs from iconic musicians who have performed on the Hall’s illustrious stage, such as Duke Ellington, the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Shirley Bassey, the Beach Boys, Status Quo and many, many more.
Come on your own or as part of a group for a run through at 2pm and then perform with a live band at 7pm by purchasing a £10 performers ticket, or join us in the audience by purchasing a £5 ticket.
