Bristol Ensemble takes to the stage with City of Bristol Choir (Saturday 17th) and Exultate Singers (Monday 19th) to bring Christmas cheer and festivities in this Christmas Spectacular. City of Bristol Choir: Music of Remembrance

Sunday 13th November at 6pm, St George’s Bristol

City of Bristol Choir performs a concert for Remembrance Sunday featuring two intensely moving pieces with themes of consolation, peace, and reconciliation: Richard Blackford’s gripping and vivid Pietà, and Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem. Completing the programme is an arrangement of a tender Ukrainian Lullaby for saxophone and orchestra, remembering the casualties not only of World Wars but also of recent conflicts. The choir will be joined by the renowned saxophonist Amy Dickson and the strings of the Bristol Ensemble.

Exultate Singers: The Heart’s Music

Saturday 15th October at 7.30pm, St George’s Bristol

Spend an evening in the company of two charismatic and entertaining masters of the guitar as the renowned international soloists Craig Ogden and Gary Ryan team up with Exultate Singers for this concert of songs from around the world, conducted by David Ogden.

The programme includes works by Ralph Vaughan Williams, marking the composer’s 150th birthday, as well as toe-tapping Spanish music and a brand new, brilliantly entertaining, setting of folk songs by Gary Ryan for choir and two guitars.

David’s Trisagion featured in Church of England’s Virtual Reality service

David’s setting of the Trisagion is sung as part of a special virtual reality 360 service. Prayers at the Foot of the Cross, filmed in the 12th Century Chapter House of Bristol Cathedral, features a mixture of prayers, music from the choir of Bristol Cathedral and moments of silent contemplation.
